Common questions

How do I sign in?

FastGIS connects to a FastGIS server you (or your organization) operate. Open Settings → Connection in the app and enter your server URL and API key.

Why does FastGIS ask for "Always" location permission?

Motorcycle navigation and hands-free Siri commands need to keep updating your position when the screen is locked or the app is in the background. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services → FastGIS.

Where is my data stored?

By default, everything you capture (photos, video, audio notes, GPS tracks, waypoints) is stored on your device. Data is only uploaded to your FastGIS server when you choose to sync a session.

Does FastGIS work offline?

Yes. Routing runs on-device via the Valhalla engine, and you can pre-download map tiles for offline use. Field samples capture works fully offline and syncs the next time you have a network connection and choose to sync.

How do I delete my data?

To remove all data stored locally by the app, delete FastGIS from your device. To remove data already synced to a FastGIS server, contact your server administrator.
