Delete your account or take a copy of your data, from the web
Every FastGIS account now has an account page at fastgis.eu/account. From it you can download a copy of everything we hold about you, or delete your account. Signing in on the web takes you straight there.
What was wrong
Both of these were built in September: an archive of your data, and a deletion that gives you 30 days to change your mind. But since late August the only delete button sat on a page reserved for the web console, which riders cannot open. The export never had a button at all. A rider who signed in on the web saw a page telling them there was nothing there for them.
What the page does
- Download a copy of my data. We build one archive of your profile, garage, routes, library, rides, surveys, diagnostics, events, shares, emergency contacts, support conversation and what the desktop keeps for you. A README inside says what each file is. When it is ready we email you a link, and the page lists it too. Either one downloads it once, within six hours, and only while you are signed in.
- Delete my account. You type your username to confirm. Public links, your emergency contacts (they are other people's details), friends and groups go at once. Everything else waits 30 days, and the email we send has a link to keep your account. If you have shared tracks, you can choose to leave some of them published. None is ticked unless you tick it, and you get a code that is the only way to remove them later.
If you sign in during those 30 days, you land on a screen with the date, a Keep my account button and a way to erase everything at once. You can still download your data from there.
The accounts page of the guide has the details. Delete and export in the phone app and the desktop come next. They will use the same deletion, with the same choice and the same 30 days.
