The desktop planner has a new layer and a new widget, Street-level photos. Drag the 📸 camera onto the map, or switch the layer on and click one of its thin lines, and you see the picture a contributor took there. V does the same at the cross in the middle of the map. Google's own Street View is one click away, in a new tab, facing the same way.

The FastGIS catalogue now answers a sentence. "Strade bianche vicino a Petina" returns the 58 dirt passages around Petina; "grusveier rundt Voss" returns 285 gravel roads around Voss; "the gates I reported in the Salerno province around the first week of September" finds your own gate reports in that province, in a window a few days wider than the week you remembered. It is live on the API today, for developers; a search box in the apps comes next.

The weather you ride into

Two days ago the rain overlay was a still picture from someone else's tile server. Today the Map tab carries a weather timeline of our own — radar, nowcast and forecast; rain, wind gusts, temperature and visibility; snow, thunder and wind direction on top — pan-European, with 1 km detail in the Nordics, and the same numbers printed under every stop of a planned route. This post is the whole of it in one place.
