From the library to the planner, as layers

Planning a ride often starts in the library: last year's loop, a friend's track, the beaches you saved along a coast. Now you can pick any of them in the desktop library and send them to the planner as layers, to plan beside them.

Select, send, keep going

Select one item or many in the Library (Ctrl or ⌘ adds, Shift extends), and press Send to planner as layers in the Selection panel. Each item joins the planner's layer list under Library layers on the map: a route or a track as a line, saved places as points. They are reference layers, so the route you are planning is left alone.

You stay in the Library. A note says how many items went, which were there already and which could not be read, and Go to the planner takes you there when you are ready. Send the same item twice and it is still one layer; if you had hidden it, it shows again.

Kept with the project

Each layer can be styled, zoomed to, hidden and opened in the attribute table like any other. Save the project and it keeps the layers by reference: open it again and they are read from the library, as they are now.

Next: send to your phone

The other half of the tray is Send to phone. It needs a change on the phone and on the server first: a notification to your own phone that opens the item, and later an "on my phone" mark that decides what the phone keeps for riding without signal.
